I’m watching the remake of Pride & Prejudice this NYE, and I wonder, how romantic must it have been to experience the thrill of the chase back in those days? I mean, as a woman, you were’nt allowed to walk around with all your girly goods hanging out. You had to be modest, leave something to the imagination. As a gentleman, you had to do the pursuing by showing up at her house, or sending a letter, and asking her permission (or that of her parents) to take her out. They didn’t take you to bars or clubs or in the back of their cars. They took you out for a nice picnic, or a tea, or something innocent. You both always put your best foot forward, and talked about interesting things. The men never said, "Hey, whats your favorite position?" Or, "Are you shaved, or trimmed?" I think if they had asked those questions they might have been shot. Haha! Anyway, thats just my wonderment for the evening….
